See You Again

This time I need to talk in another blog; again. Why you may ask. Yes; the problem that only I seem to face because I have not heeded the advice of some. My photos are taking up too much cyber space and so I am again forbidden to post unless I pay... don't want to pay so I went back to the old trick.
Start again  ... this time meet me here.

The Finalists

Yes it has been decided; the16 finalists.
Tomorrow we see the young souls competing on fair grounds.
Each individual or group will exhibit their best and hope for the best.
It has been quite a while since the last talentine was held; 2005.
At the request of some parents at the PTA's AGM early this year, the school takes up the challenge of meeting the request.
We hope to see shining stars; but even if some don't shine that bright; it doesn't matter.
It is the opportunity to see some performances of our children.
So if you can make it do come to give your support.

They are named MUG VC ; don't really know what it means but they play all kinds of musical instruments and harmonize.
You will be surprised how well they harmonize.

2 + 2; they are all in Form 3; a young group but also full of potential; let's hope nothing untoward happens...

The brothers on the key board; they are a determined group so well supported by the mother.

Vi Jia and brother Zen Yang are also a talented couple; they play like professionals.
Many will be astonished at their skill.

Sweet May Yean has a special voice that can cause you to ask for more; I hope she doesn't complicate herself  by playing too many instruments; the ukelele is just perfect.

Wan and Sun hope to out beat everyone with their beat boxing skills...

This talented, budding pianist is a class above many; come and hear him play...you may fall down from your seat.

D'archaize; did I get it right? He too wants to out beat others with his rapping.

These 2 voices are big in volume and disposition.

Vanessa and Shane are popular as they are sweet, petite and good...watch out for them.

Allysa has a high pitch and can sing exceptionally well...someone to look out for.

The only representative from the afternoon session; Dinie sings tomorrow...

But perhaps one of the best news is that we have Megan Tan and Joshua Yim to be the Mcs of the evening. We also have Reuben Kang and Jin for a special appearance for the evening. Except for Jin, they are all ex-Seafieldians and it is indeed a pleasure to have them back with us; this time to help raise funds for their Alma mater.
We have taught and they have indeed learned; to reciprocate in gratitude.

Wish us a good evening when we come together for

SOUL TO SHINE.

Megan; host for the evening.

My BOS Teachers

 BOS
They say it may mean Blue Ocean Strategy...my teachers are putting on different hats, different looks and different attitudes these days. They are aiming high and trying tricks of all nature to achieve.I hope in their drive they will not meet too challenging times; but yet all these are part of the route to success. We are also evoking entrepreneurial stamina among our proteges and protegees as we scour through the intense activities of the month of June and early July. We have a mission to accomplish ; to help fill the coffers of the PTA of the school to provide extra-curricular  facilities for the school.
The fund raising activities; a talent show and a carnival day are enough to set the school reeling in action.
But most commendable are the teachers.
They use strategies that you may not have heard of.

These old timers will plan, strategise and sacrifice time beyond their calling just to see a job well-delivered. They have been so well trained that they know the ins and outs of their duties without much guidance. They hold great responsibility in the disposition of their chores.

These hardworking ones are the anchors of the school. Puan Tan is girl Friday and will come to your rescue. Puan Saadiah is the chief secretary of the school and she writes, writes , writes. Puan Sumalidza and Puan Maziha make sure the backdrops of the school are always well taken care of and Puan Latiffah had her portion of writing minutes last year. They are beautiful people.

Oh Miss Purity has a big task ahead of her for the coming talent show. She will be the lady behind the stage and all arrangements and props under her gentle care. Her skill as stage manager has been proven.

The show cannot go on without her. She plots, coaxes, hunts for talent and money...oh Doris, Doris, Doris... please do not collapse.
Yet, she still smiles... and all the time say.."Aya Puan Chong; you see these... " non stop.
I give in to have peace my dear Doris...
But I love your stamina.

My teachers are fun lovers too; you have to play hard to have what you want. So when you ask them to perform, they will without qualms. So it is good to see them having fun. Aren't they great?

They are good at the dikir barat too; it is this spirit that will carry them through the days in school. They are not only teachers. They are fathers, mothers, sister, brothers and everything to everyone. Who says it is easy to be a teacher? Perhaps the toughest job is to be as teacher. You are under scrutiny, criticism, and have to be on alert for you may be attacked unaware. We pick ourselves up when we fall only to fall again and then to stand up again. But never mind, we still love the job.

So, for this particular period of time, I just need to tell them they are appreciated for their effort.
I hope they will continue to fight the good fight for the next 2 weeks using the  BOS and float well.

And...really. You have to been street wise in school for the children are getting more street wise by the day.
You have to be the greater crook to conquer them.

Sports 2012

The scorching sun did not dampen the spirit.
The youths are a wonderful lot; so full of energy and having a hope that is unquenchable.
I told you before that the students are versatile, at one moment they are on stage and at the next on the field. They will indulge in the activities and still feel strong .

Sports 2012 was slightly different as we had the attention and presence if the Director of Sports of the Ministry of Education.

The captains displayed discipline and integrity; values that will carry them through in life.

Madam Ee Hong is petite and gracious. She is soft spoken but has a steely demeanor; how else can she lead the nation in sports? 1M1S - sports for everyone must be her baby; that every child should be involved in sports activities in school. She calls every student and every school in the nation to come together for a 'senamrobik' session on 10th July. So every school will put on the music then and exercise...

This is a small world. Madam Ee Hong is but my long lost friend too. We were from the same university studying in the same faculty and graduated together. But she took the road less taken and became extremely successful for she leads the sports programme of the nation today. Small in size but big in spirit.

The percussion band of the school took the march lead; so well dressed and steady. It was a pleasure to see them play. They have worked very hard to hold the fort for the school.

The Vulcanz has improved markedly. They are vibrant and sprang in fearless stunts and jumps. The girls are really light and easy; so pleasurable to the eye.

Oh the scouts are at it again; ever so willing to put their best shot.

The cadet police are smart too; also trying their best.

Oh the St. John's team was the dark horse of the year; they had an unexpected win to the surprise of many. Ha... I forced Grace to join the team in her school days ..." Join the group and you may turn out to be a doctor. I told her." She did.

The scorching sun did not deter her. Eugenia scored well and broke several records some of which were her old records. She is such a sprinter and ran like a deer. She has gone far and wide  and now running at the National level.

The sports lady and sports man of the year. Humble and unassuming. May they remember the great days they had in their Alma mater.

Sports 2012.

A Nite of Fire

The Splendid Scouting Spirit; beyond measure.

You climb those steps and poles before you are allowed entry.

We were told not to worry as the knots are strong and reliable; they must not break old bones.

 The 2012 Campfire Nite.

They either make it or die...they are out to conquer.

The four Mcs of the evening ; sorry for blur shot...Kenneth, Brian, Hui Ming and Hong Yee all of 3 Budi 2010; cartoons forever.

Look at the army ... they seemed so formidable. It's the fire !

Yes they danced to the tune of fire; I felt their energized spirit. They are so full of action and the intensity of their display was hard to describe. They make me feel real old...

Then there is this special drama created in a story ... Mystique ... and who is a better narrator than Loong Yi? The theme of the show is equivalent to that of Steven Spielberg's Raiders of the Lost Ark ! The main actor Brian and the main actress May Yean ; they deserve the Oscar award.

After the fire, drama, singing and dancing...the night still seemed young for them to while away the hours.

What a night. Well done to the 104th Scout team of the school; you have set another milestone for the next batch to compete.

A night to remember by.

The Auditionl

Scouting For Talents.
The school is vibrant.
There are so many talents of all forms and the spectrum is indeed wide.
Some are good at their studies; others on the sports arena and still others elsewhere.
The challenge is to find them.

The selected judges worked hard for hours to hunt and detect the talents among the 45 contestants.
Who will make it to the finals?

Moira and Aliff trying their feat and they call themselves the Soaring Fighters... at their plight of saving a soul; drama and song.

Zuhrie; yes?

Vivien and The Boys ...

Alex dances well; singing needs some brushing...

Sharine on acapella; CD music not functioning but the judges did not mind...

The Ukelele girl dresses well...sings well too?

This brother and sister team is out to please...

The beat boxers are out to compete; if they made it we need Aaron around...

Samuel seems like a professional on the keys...so did he make it?

Danish Azarul; the young lad of the lower forms is unassuming and has a pleasant voice...

She sang the HERO song with plenty of butterflies in her stomach...

MUG VC are friends using all forms of musical display to shine...

Am I Right ? But they are my favourite boys...a tough fight.

The ballet dancer dancing to Poetry in Motion...

Shane and Vanessa; one of the judges said they must be choir singers; rendering YESTERDAY.

2 plus 2 on ... YOU MUST BE SOMEBODY I USED TO KNOW... will they make it?

The 2 Voices rendering Carrie Underwood's ...I TOLD U SO...

Agnes on the Chinese instrument...

Strings and Things are funny but entertaining; rendering their own composition...

Quiet but bold; Low Li Huey singing on the piano...

Reshmah's classical dance cannot be wrong; but did she make it? I observed her carefully painted feet; made to look like shoes. Absolutely intricate.

Those are but only some of the 40 over performances. I forgot to shoot Ryan and Dinie...
Did they make it to the finals?
