The Flight

The long planned for and awaited day came. So students, teachers and mothers alike made a bee line to KLIA for the departure to the German town of Heidelberg.

Parents love their children dearly. They sponsored willingly and give their full support hoping that the children will gain confidence and exposure through this exchange. I love to see this sporting spirit in them.

Encik Rahim beat against all odds to make it for the trip. He will be the man behind all the recording and documentation. He hugged his children dearly.

It was nostalgic to meet ex-students who came to send their siblings off. Here is the handsome pilot; Zuheir who came to give support to his little brother. This state debator is still as charming as ever. But he told me he has no girl friend; yet.

How can we forget the law man here. His three children Preman, Priayanka and little Preveena are all Seafieldians. He has full trust in the school. But it was good to see the family again.

After a long haul, the team finally reached Frankfurt after a stop over in Amsterdam.

Even after such a long flight, the children were still wide awake with the day's perspective ahead of them.

In Frankfurt we met Puan Rahizam and his supportive husband who greeted us with much warmth. Rahizam was so kind; she cooked and packed nasi lemak for everyone of us. Just a day away from home...and we were reminded of home again. Thank God for good friends.

Just as excited were the Heidelberg youths who visited us last year. They greeted us with excitement waiting for a chance to reciprocate their warmth.

Host families came and were ready to host our children too. So all the Seafieldians were each given a host family to put up with.

"We are friends forever; wherever we are..." they sang with much feelings before the crowd separated and left with their host families. They have to learn about the German hospitality and culture too.

Tomorrow the team will meet and practise in this music school for their performance on Sunday before the Mayor of the town. So, we wait for the good performance.

What a long day.
Goodnite.
