It's The Bug !

31st July 2011
Another nephew; another wedding... all in Penang again.
It's the wedding bug; a huge one.

This has long been speculated and awaited; it finally came along. Why do men make women wait so long ? No guts?

At Lone Pine, the wedding lunch was exactly what the couple wanted; simple with no fuss and little pomp. Some like the day celebrated with a big bang; others just want it simple.

The bride's mum together with the groom's grandma ; a first encounter.

Sara with cousin Delci are the only young ladies around ; so they saw to the registration.

These are the older Lau girls waiting for guests ...

The bride is beautiful; deep set eyes and has an intelligent disposition; so says the teacher and aunt in law...

This is a good embrace; MIL and DIL . Treat your daughter in law like your biology daughter and you will bound to win her heart. That's the secret of a successful partnership. Be friends.

But where's the groom? As usual he has many tricks up his sleeves...

There you are ! Don't keep the poor bride waiting ; she has waited long enough...

This is especially for Grace; your friend. She's a great pal of your cousin.

The Chinese must have this ceremony; the tea ceremony. It's an act of respect? position? submission? Some tell me that it is at this occasion you switch mode; you call your in-laws- father and mother... so if there is no tea ceremony; there is no formal address?

Dear daddy is not a pastor; but he is needed to say grace for the food and a prayer for the couple... a privilege.

So to the new couple; may the beginning be a good ending too...

Uncle Richard, a full time worker for the church sanctified the wedding in a prayer that culminates the Lord's blessings and unction. What God put together let no man put asunder...

To Caleb, appreciate and love your wife. To Shireen, may you find the love of your life a fulfillment to your dreams and prayers.

God Bless Them.

Best Kept Secret

A Beautiful day

Planned a year ago with Sara's convocation date in mind.
Really there are certain matters which cannot be determined by man.
So this well-planned occasion was missed on 9th July 2011 , the day I had to attend Sara's convocation.
But better late than never; I have been given a chance to congratulate them by this blog with the bride and groom's consent.

Who can be prettier than this picture? No one...

Who is the lucky man? I saw him at birth. He grew together with his cousin sisters; a great reason why they are so close to the bride. A good choice, young man.

The entourage was a formidable one ; look at the handsome young men all from Australia and America geared in Chinese attire. They had been told it's a Chinese wedding so they have to oblige by the rules...

These 2 young ladies said " Give us our dues if you wanna see her..." I have been told that the men had quite a time with 'body hairs' been removed...

That's cousin Leyla and Celine; you think you can get through them? Not an easy task...

"Der Wen, please la. Let me through..." Hey, hey, hey...sing for your supper now.

The bride with her private protectors; who can get near to her without their consent?

After a whole time of torture, the bride gave in to her groom; ok la...

Little man said he wanted to open the door for" ji chim"...hey dont' steal the thunder.

Thank you my beau, the classical beauty reiterated.

They have waited long for this day; Ah Peng !

Blessings aplenty for you and Shen ; Pam. Hugs that promise love and care ; in good hands.

But of course the bride's parents tell it all...it's a privilege to have your child taken care of by a man. They have hoped and prayed all their lives; answered prayer. The stage has just begun.

May the good Lord's blessings be upon the marriage ; plenty of fun, laughter and joy along the journey.

A woman who fears the Lord, she has a heart of gold. Pam your mother's prayer has been well answered. I pray my girls will have MILs like her. It's her heart's desire that her sons are well taken care of too by her DILs. Life is after all a stage; the show has a good ending when we play our roles well. Love one another and peace will reign the home and you will find God's blessings and approval abundant.

See the girls stole the show too. I was informed that the girls performed better than boys in everything; you can see for yourself. Everyone present could feel the Lord's unseen presence and approval; so appreciate what you have been bestowed and love one another well; Pam and Shen.

Unforgettable ; she sang it. The aunt said that she should be a singer and not a doctor... still not too late.

Here's to love ... yum, yum, yum... the girls had a louder rendition ; so Kong and Por said.

To the beautiful bride...

...and the handsome couple; be patient with each other and allow the verses of 1 Cor 13 be the song of your life together.

Happy for both of you.
