Bradford on Avon

Even some locals miss the place.

Unlike Stratford Upon Avon, Bradford on Avon is less well known but not less picturesque.
A local newspaper spoke well of the place and dad in his adventurous spirit took it upon himself to find the nook. It was one of the best decisions ever made.

The buildings are old, real old and speak of medieval times. You wonder at times if you are living in the 21st century or hundreds of years ago; the buildings are so old.

It is hilly and we had to climb flights of steps to see the best of the place.

Solid and old.

Church steeples and chapels string the walkway...

After so many years, the old roofs still stay good and reliable...

As you climb higher, you come across houses that are beautifully named; this one is called Ladywell ; so pretty.

From the hilly top, it is breathtaking, the picture speaks a thousand words.

We walked for a distance but the climb is worth every effort...

Look at the chimneys; like pretty maids all in a row...

Though sunny, the weather was chilly but comfortable and it makes walking a pleasure.

We can't really tell what this was, but it has a feature that allows water to flow from a pout...

This water feature is ancient but still functioning...

My tired legs needed some rest; so I pondered over the beautiful flora before my eyes. It is different here. Things move slowly and you live out a life meaningfully; that's what life should be isn't it? The local folks here will be choked in Subang Jaya...

See; that's the way they live ; happy and relax. On top of that this Summer is superb; we saw no rain here; only hope.

The Avon is long ;flowing right across the South; so dad and I sat and savour in the beautiful scenario and clean air. What more do we want? It was a good time.

Bradford on Avon; so appropriate the name. It is sure worth a visit if you are in the South.

Do make an effort to detour wherever you may be in the UK and visit the country town.
You'll not regret.

Bradford on Avon; given another opportunity I will visit it again.
