An Unprecedented Trip

The Heidelberg Link

In this sea of faces are potentials of every form; some are academically inclined, others are vocationally inclined and still others are creatively inclined. You must look at them through a myriad of images and see their strength. Even at this age, I must admit I have mistakenly judged many a potential biasely and later to find out that they are potentials in their very own ways.

Last year, we received a great singing youth team from Heidelberg. They came, sang and conquered the Seafield crowd.

Seafield choir performed together with them in a concert and much was learnt through this interaction. The Seafield choir became more confident and emulated many skills.

The Heidelberg Youth Choir led by Esther Witt was an entertaining group bringing us good songs and harmony.

They stayed with Malaysian host families and you know how hospitable Malaysians can be. This pretty girl caught a boy around her fingers...will we see her again?

Tomorrow Seafield is reciprocating in good feelings to the Heidelberg invitation. Yes, a group of brave children and some teachers will be making this unprecedented move to the German capital for another exchange. It is a pride to see the children taking the initiative to bring the Malaysian culture in songs and dances to Heidelberg and Berlin. They have sacrificed much. They practised, danced and have decided to rise up to the occasion. The parents are a sporting lot. They financed and gave moral support. It is indeed with their blessings that such a trip is possible.

We love our nation dearly. In this bag are gifts and brochures that speak well of out land. We want to share Malaysia with the Germans.

We bring the spread...Malaysia is truly Asia.

All 6 of us will meet again; we never knew this could happen. So, tomorrow SMK Seafield will create history and it will go down to the annals of the school.

Wish us well.
